With deep sadness, we at Battle Grounds Coffee Co. wanted to reach out to you, and to all of our customers, and thank everyone deeply for their community and support. On March 31, 2021, we lost our general manager, and founding partner, Alison Battle to an accident.

At this time, we are unsure if we will reopen.

Alison was the force behind our efforts, a light that shone so bright. She cared about each an every Battle Grounds customer as if they were family. If you would like to offer condolences and support her legacy, you can do so here:

Steven Battle is a 4th generation coffee farmer, born and raised in Costa Rica. He knows what coffee means to the entire community and has built Battle Grounds to honour its deep traditions.

Alison
roaster, general manager

Alison Kendall Fraser-Battle spent 11 years in Costa Rica, immersed in both coffee and culture. From roast schedules to inventory levels and treating our customers like family, Alison is our driving force.

Mauricio

Born and raised in Costa Rica, Mauricio Perez is a two-time national barista champion. He loves teaching others about his craft. Mauricio is the keeper of our origin manifesto.
